Special notes
Contamination with saliva, blood or water must
absolutely be avoided during the entire procedure. In
case of contamination, the entire treatment of the
restoration is to be repeated (see section 1).
IMPORTANT! In order to create a strong bond, do not
clean the zirconium oxide surfaces with phosphoric acid.
Do not insert the brush into the Monobond Plus bottle.
This may lead to contamination.
Carefully close the Monobond Plus bottle immediately
after use to prevent evaporation of the solvent.
Warning
The product contains ethanol. Keep away from ignition
sources.
Monobond Plus is an irritant. Avoid contact with the skin
and mucous membrane. If the material should accidentally
come in contact with the skin, immediately wash with
copious amounts of water.
In rare cases, contact with the skin may lead to sensitiza-
tion towards the ingredients.
Commercial medical gloves do not provide protection
against the sensitizing effect of methacrylates.
Storage
Monobond Plus should never be used after the expiration
date.
Storage temperature: 2–28 °C / 36–82 °F.
Shelf life: see expiry date on label.

The material has been developed solely for use in dentistry. Processing
should be carried out strictly according to the Instructions for Use. Liability
cannot be accepted for damages resulting from failure to observe the
Instructions or the stipulat ed area of application. The user is responsible for
testing the material for its suitability and use for any purpose not explicitly
stated in the Instructions. Descriptions and data constitute no warranty of

Etch with 5% hydrofluoric acid (e.g. IPS
®
Ceramic Etch-
ing Gel) for 20 seconds or according to the instructions
of the manufacturer of the restorative material.
Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-free
air.
1.3 Zirconium oxide (e.g. IPS e.max ZirCAD) or aluminium
oxide ceramics
Sandblast the restoration surface (sandblasting
parameters according to the instructions of the
manufacturer of the restorative material).
If necessary, clean the restoration in an ultrasonic unit
for about 1 minute.
Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-free
air.
IMPORTANT! In order to create a strong bond, do not
clean the oxide ceramic surfaces with phosphoric acid.
1.4 Metal or metal-supported restorations
Sandblast the restoration surface (sandblasting param-
eters according to the instructions of the manufacturer
of the restorative material) until an even, matt or non-
glossy surface has been achieved.
If necessary, clean the restoration in an ultrasonic unit
for about 1 minute.
Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-free
air.
IMPORTANT! In order to create a strong bond, do not
clean the metal surfaces with phosphoric acid.
1.5 Composite or fiber-reinforced composite restorations
Sandblast the restoration surface (according to the
instructions of the manufacturer of the restorative
material).
If necessary, clean the restoration in an ultrasonic unit
for about 1 minute.
Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-free
air.
2 Apply a thin coat of Monobond Plus with a brush or a
Microbrush to the pre-treated surfaces (avoid pooling
when treating crowns). Allow the material to react for
60 seconds. Subsequently, disperse any remaining
excess with a strong stream of air.
3 Apply the luting composite (e.g. Variolink
®
II,
Variolink
®
Veneer or Multilink
®
Automix) according to
the respective Instructions for Use and insert the
restoration.
